Children
enrolled in the Montessori/Discovery program spend a portion
of each day alternating between two classroom learning
environments.
The
Montessori classroom utilizes all five senses in the
learning process, not just through listening, watching, or
reading. Children select activities from hundreds of
possibilities and work at their own pace. The Montessori
teacher models, guides and supports each student as needed.
She is able to tailor the program to their unique
developmental readiness.
The
Discovery Room compliments the Montessori process, using a
center-based classroom that facilitates creative thinking.
Children experience the joy of discovery by using their
imagination to explore and understand the world through a
number of group projects.
The centers enhance the areas
studied in the Montessori Room and offer additional
development in literacy, music appreciation, research,
dramatic play, and technology.
